Sunday School

Our Sunday School hour is from 9:45 am to 10:45 am every Sunday morning. Class offerings are updated every trimester. Current classes are listed below.

Adult Sunday School: Fall 2021

Women’s Class: Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life

Teacher: Laura Cooper

Growing in our spiritual walk with Christ is something we are all likely seeking. The spiritual disciplines are those practices found in Scripture which help us experience this growth. This study will outline each of these disciplines, explain why each is important and share practical ways to make them a part of our lives as Christian women.

Room: 217-218

Men’s Class: Killing Lions

Teacher: Chris Schupp

Killing Lions is a book written by bestselling author John Eldredge and his son Sam Eldredge.  It details their conversations, while Sam was in college and after, about the transition to manhood.  The Men’s Class will be viewing these short videos and discussing them from two different perspectives; How can men with more life experience help younger men going through this transition in life and what advice can younger men in this stage seek out from older men they know?  The Men’s Class is open to men of all ages, but for this study we recommend guys from college age and up, with the focus being on the transition from college into adult manhood.

Room: Reception Room

The Men’s Class is a fellowship of men devoted to praying for one another and journeying together as we strive to live out biblically based authentic manhood.

Pray Always

Teacher: Mark Lancaster

During the Sunday School hour, we will gather to talk to the Lord.  There will be a short lesson or scripture reading, then we will pray for what anyone would like to bring.  Whether you pray out loud or to yourself, you will find others who believe that praying together and praying regularly are important.

Room: Sanctuary

The Epistle to the Hebrews

Teacher: Kelly Dunn

Why study Hebrews? The writer of Hebrews teaches us that Jesus Christ is supreme over all things. He writes, “in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control” (2:8). The writer points to Christ as the Sustainer of all things, even the letter that he has penned. For it is Christ to whom we should look for all our answers. The Epistle of Hebrews intimidates some people, it need not be so. The book of Hebrews is a unique book for  many reasons and those will be covered in class. I hope you will join us as we study this very important book of the Bible.

Room: Chapel

The Gospel of Matthew

Teachers: Mike Brink, Matt Martinie

This Gospel, penned by a Jewish tax collector formerly employed by the occupying Romans who later became one of the Twelve, sets out to demonstrate that Jesus is indeed the long awaited Messiah, the King of the Jews, and the Savior of the Gentiles. Written primarily to Jews, Matthew’s Gospel demonstrates that the person and work of Jesus fulfills the prophecies and types of the Old Testament, ushering in the Kingdom of God. Please join us as we study the One who promised to be with us always, even to the consummation of the age (Matt. 28:20).
